Eugene Symphony Offers Faculty-Staff Discount

October 19, 2015—Thursday, Nov. 12 is University of Oregon Night at the Eugene Symphony!

The concert will present a unique collaboration: the University of Oregon Symphony Orchestra will join forces with the Eugene Symphony to perform Edgard Varèse’s Amériques under the baton of Eugene Symphony Music Director Danail Rachev. With this combined orchestra, the performance will feature the largest orchestra ever assembled on the Silva Concert Hall stage.

UO students, faculty, and staff are invited to witness this historic moment in Eugene arts with a special discount offer. Students pay just $10 in advance or at the Hult Center door, just by showing their valid UO ID card.

Faculty and staff can receive a discount of 10% on any seat by entering the code GODUCKS when purchasing a ticket online at http://bit.ly/UONight_EugeneSymphony, or just say the magic phrase when purchasing a ticket at the door.

Repertoire will also include Charles Ives's hypnotic “The Unanswered Question” and Antonin Dvorák's famous Symphony No. 9, "From the New World.” Three unique voices create one powerful evening of music about the American experience.

Later offerings in the ESO season will also feature collaborations with UO artists, and UO faculty and staff are welcome to a 10% off discount again using the same GODUCKS code. February 18, 2016 will see a concert entitled “Fire & Water” with Assistant Professor of Percussion Pius Cheung; while the May 12, 2016 concert will feature Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 paired with a brand-new work by Professor of Composition Robert Kyr.
