Oregon Wind Ensemble

Dennis Llinás, conductor

The Oregon Wind Ensemble (OWE) is the premiere concert organization of the U of O Band department and is comprised of the finest music and non-major wind, brass, and percussion students. Through the performance of a wide range of repertoire, the OWE provides an opportunity for our students to develop and refine their individual musicianship. The ensemble enjoys a rich history of collaborating with faculty soloists, composers, and guest artists from around the world. In addition to their regular series of six on-campus concerts, the Wind Ensemble has performed on tour as well as National and State conferences, including OMEA and CBDNA. The Oregon Wind Ensemble performs repertoire including original band works, chamber works, and selected transcriptions. The Wind Ensemble averages 45 musicians each year and rehearses Tuesday/Thursday from 3:00-5:20 pm. Auditions are open to all interested students. The course number for the ensemble is MUS 395.

Campus Band

Eric Wiltshire, conductor

The UO Campus Band is a concert band open to all students (no audition) and is specifically designed for the non-music major. The OCB is also a popular ensemble choice among many music majors who are interested in gaining additional secondary instrument performance experience. The UO Campus Band meets every Wednesday evening for a two-hour rehearsal during fall, winter, and spring terms, and performs a concert at the end of each quarter. During fall term the UO Campus Band rehearsal schedule does not conflict with Oregon Marching Band rehearsals, so that students will have the opportunity to perform in both groups.
