The Director of Information Technology administers all aspects of technology support. This includes analyzing systems and identifying needs, estimating costs and maintaining budgets, prioritizing and contracting work, assisting with implementation, training users, resolving problems, and documenting changes. The IT Director also maintains the hardware, software and network resources required for the school's instruction, administration, and communications.
An accomplished musician, Guy purchased his first guitar and music equipment by picking cherries for a summer. The purchase included an amplifier and stomp boxes that soon needed repair, leading to lifetime love of all things related to music and technology.
Guy spent 13+ years on the road, performing across the nation with bands including Head East, Autograph, Canned Heat, Quiet Riot, and Skid Row. He has worked with concert production companies, in studio design and construction, and as a recording engineer. Guy eventually fell in love with Eugene area and made the decision to "get off the road" while simultaneously continuing to pursue the intersection of music and technology.
Through his time at Delta College, Guy extended his knowledge of electronics, computer programming, and robotics. He worked for Symantec Corporation for over a decade, a period during which he was fortunate to work with other world-class technology companies and leading IT professionals.
Guy worked for the Oregon Community Credit Union for five years, improving the organization’s IT services and operations.
Guy owns and operates a private recording studio here in Eugene, Shutup & Play Studios.
