Anne Merydith joined the School of Music and Dance in 2004 as the Graduate Secretary and in December 2010 became Executive Assistant to the dean of the School of Music and Dance. As such, she coordinates promotion and tenure cases, faculty evaluations, faculty searches, accreditation and program reviews, visiting scholars, courtesy appointments, and special projects for the dean. She oversees the dean's appointment calendar, communications, and confidential files and serves as his representative when needed.
Anne holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Recreation Management from Oregon State University and has done postbac coursework in editing, history, and writing while working at OSU from 1978 to 1993. In 2003, she moved back home to Oregon after working at the University of Kansas for a little more than nine years. Her last six years at KU were in the Graduate School and Office of International Programs where she coordinated special programs, events, and the award-winning local chapter of an international honor society; edited a leading newsletter in the field of higher ed international programs, Horizons; and managed databases and supervised the International Programs website. From 2000 to 2004, Anne served on the international governing board for Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars.
She began playing the piano at the age of five and has recently returned to the instrument with much joy. She is an accomplished calligrapher and has taught classes and workshops in Oregon and Kansas since 1982. Currently she teaches classes in the Eugene area.
