Music Graduate Employee Awards for Excellence in Teaching
To recognize the important contributions our music Graduate Teaching Fellows make to the School of Music and Dance, the Dean will present two awards this spring to GEs for excellence in teaching.
One will be for classroom/academic teaching and one for studio/performance/ ensemble teaching. Each will include a letter of recognition, a certificate, and a $200 monetary award.
Nominations will be accepted from undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. Please submit nominations by Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Criteria for nomination include, but are not limited to:
- Course content and philosophy of teaching
- Presentation of material (syllabus, lectures, discussion leadership, etc.)
- Accessibility to students
- Commitment to student progress
- Classroom/studio management
The review of nominations and the selections will be made by the Dean and Associate Deans.
Please nominate a GE who has shown a special commitment this year to excellence in teaching music at the School of Music!
