UO Selected as 2017 Dance Conference Site

September 21, 2015—The University of Oregon Department of Dance is honored to be selected as the host of the 2017 Northwest Conference meeting of the American College Dance Association!

As always, the conference’s primary focus will be to support and promote the wealth of talent and creativity that is prominent in college and university dance departments throughout ACDA’s Northwest region.

The UO will host three days of adjudication, performances, workshops, panels, and master classes taught by instructors from around the region and the nation. The Hult Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Eugene will serve as the venue.

“As the host institution, the University of Oregon is in a position to invite members of ACDA’s Northwest region to experience the pristine grounds of the UO campus, our spacious dance facilities, and the creative spirit of our community,” said Associate Professor Jenifer Craig, chair of the UO Department of Dance.

“ACDA is an exciting and inspiring experience for our students,” continued Craig. “They always represent the UO well in adjudication, as demonstrated last year by the acceptance of both of our submitted dances into the Gala Concert, and by a UO graduate student's honorary selection to present at the 2014 national conference in Washington, D.C. Hosting will take our ability to share the UO message with younger dancers to a new level.”
