SOMD Students to present at UO Grad Forum

 
February 5, 2015—Five SOMD graduate students will participate in the UO Graduate School’s 6th Annual Graduate Student Research Forum, scheduled for Friday, February 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Ford Alumni Center on the UO campus.

The Graduate Forum is an annual, one-day interdisciplinary conference showcasing the research, scholarship, and creative expressions of UO graduate students. This year’s Graduate Forum will include fifteen individual, hour-long content pieces, including panel sessions, creative performances, and an afternoon interdisciplinary poster session. 
 
Graduate student participants will enjoy the opportunity to present their work to peers, faculty, and staff from across campus, as well as to industry and community professionals. The Grad Forum will feature competitive group sessions, a new location, and lots of food. The event will showcase the work of 150+ grad students from 30+ disciplines, $10,000+ in prizes, and a post-event reception at The Barn Light in downtown Eugene.

  • 1-2 p.m., Ford Alumni Center: Sean Peterson (Musicology): The Technologizing of Our World: Plugging into Hip-Hop Music, Education, Online Privacy, and Local Ecologies (co-presenters Chris Knowles, Alicia Kristen, and Nicole Marsaglia)
