The University of Oregon choirs are open to university students from all majors. Auditions for University Singers, Repertoire Singers, and Chamber Choir will begin on Wednesday, September 25, and continue through the first three days of classes. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board outside of Room 165 (the Choral Library) in the MarAbel B. Frohnmayer Music Building.
Please have one song prepared; it can be an art song, aria, folk song, or musical theater piece. A pianist will be provided for you. If no song is prepared, you may sing a familiar tune such as "Silent Night." You will also be asked to perform brief exercises that assess your range, aural skills, and music literacy level.
Please note that Chamber Choir and University Singers audition in the fall only, and members commit for the entire year. Repertoire Singers will accept new members any term.
If you have any questions about the auditioned choirs (Chamber Choir, University Singers, or Repertoire Singers), please e-mail Sharon J. Paul. For questions regarding the concert choir, please e-mail Christopher S. Olin.

The Chamber Choir is a highly select mixed chamber ensemble of 24-28 voices specializing in a cappella repertoire from the sixteenth through twenty-first centuries. Members are mostly graduate and upper-level undergraduate students with excellent sight-reading skills and vocal ability.
In May 2013, the UO Chamber Choir, the most select ensemble in the university's eight-choir choral arts program, placed first in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at the Cork International Choral Festival in Cork, Ireland, renowned as one of Europe's most prestigious choral arts events. In April 2011, the Chamber Choir won top honors in two categories at the Tallinn International Choral Festival held in Tallinn, Estonia.
In addition, they have performed at state and divisional conferences for the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education. Auditions are held during the Week of Welcome and into the first three days of classes fall term.

The University Singers is the premier large choral ensemble on campus, with a choral tradition at the University of Oregon extending back to 1945. The University Singers perform choral music from all periods and styles, with concerts both on and off campus. Members are experienced singers representing a wide variety of majors from across campus. The University Singers frequently have the opportunity to perform with instrumental ensembles such as the University Symphony Orchestra, the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the Collegium Musicum. Auditions are held during the Week of Welcome and into the first three days of classes fall term.

Concert Choir is an open enrollment, mixed choral ensemble that welcomes new members each term. The choir explores a wide variety of repertoire and places emphasis on the vocal and musicianship skills essential for continued choral performance. No audition is required; however, a brief vocal screening will be held during the first week of classes. Concert Choir will accept new members any term; you may sign up on Duckweb and come to the first rehearsal!
