Student chamber ensembles are encouraged to explore many types of repertoire. Groups can be pre-formed, common ensembles such as string quartets, or specifically organized for works calling for less typical instrumentation. Ensembles rehearse on their own and coach with faculty members regularly in preparation for performances. Programs are widely varied in repertoire and instrumentation, and have recently been presented in venues such as the School of Music and Dance, Erb Memorial Union, Collier House, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, and the Knight Library.
