Jeff Brown joined the School of Music and Dance as the Information Technology Director. This position continues to develop and administer all aspects of Information Technology support. This includes analyzing systems and identifying needs, estimating costs and maintaining budgets, prioritizing and contracting work, assisting with implementation, training users, resolving problems, and documenting changes. The IT Director also maintains the hardware, software and network resources required for the School's instruction. The position leads the School in the management of technology for instruction and administration.
Jeff earned a degree from Oregon State University, BS in Computer Science with a Minor in Business Administration Option in Information Systems.
He served as IT Manager for seven years for three departments at Oregon State University in the College of Agricultural Sciences: Fisheries and Wildlife, Animal Sciences, and Food Science and Technology. He has been maintaining a computer network that services all three departments with expertise in all major operating systems. He brings experience and expertise in network administration, hardware maintenance, planning, budgeting and purchasing, an ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users, and a strong customer service background.
