Originally from Staten Island, NY, Louis DeMartino recently moved to Portland, Oregon, where he is a freelance musician. He performs with the Northwest New Music Ensemble and the Third Angle Ensemble. DeMartino is also the assistant principal and Eb clarinetist of the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder, CO and the bass clarinetist of the Artosphere Music Festival in Fayetteville, AK.   

 
DeMartino was recently a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL, and has performed with the Oregon Symphony, Boston Symphony, Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Kansas City Symphony, and the Omaha Symphony. He has also been a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra and spent a year as the 2nd clarinetist of Orchestra Iowa in Cedar Rapids, IA.  
 
DeMartino was a fellow with the Tanglewood Music Center and a member of the New Fromm Players. He has spent three summers performing with the AIMS Orchestra in Graz, Austria.
 
DeMartino studied at the New England Conservatory with Craig Nordstrom where he received his bachelor’s in clarinet performance. He received his Master of Music degree from Rice University where he studied with Michael Webster.
