Beta Collide
Beta Collide is a leading-edge new music ensemble directed by flutist Molly Barth and trumpeter Brian McWhorter. Beta Collide focuses on "the collision of musical art forms, from complex to ambient; from low-brow to high-brow; from radically extended technique to site-specific improvisation." Recent projects include collaborations with Mark Applebaum, Scott Rosenberg, Stephen Vitiello and Amit Goswami (the physicist in the film What the Bleep Do We Know?). The group was named in The Oregonian's list of the Best in Classical Music for 2008. Beta Collide has premiered works by Robert Kyr and Douglas Detrick, and performed the music of John Cage, György Ligeti, and John Fonville.

The Oregon Brass Quintet has been in residence at the University of Oregon since the early 1970's. Comprised of the brass faculty members from the School of Music, the OBQ promotes brass chamber music in its region through clinics, educational programs, and recitals. The OBQ has performed extensively throughout the Northwestern states in a variety of venues including school concerts, concert halls, and educational conferences, including the MENC/All Northwest Conference.

The Oregon String Quartet, formed in 1982, is composed of four faculty members from the University of Oregon School of Music. Committed to excellence in Performance and Music Education, the Quartet members each teach the undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Music and guide the string program together to create an unusually cohesive department with an exciting and vibrant atmosphere. The quartet performs regularly in the Pacific Northwest in addition to their other appearances around the country. The members of the quartet bring together a wide range of musical experience including years of chamber music collaborations with world-renowned artists.

The Oregon Wind Quintet returned as a resident faculty ensemble at the  University of Oregon in 2005. The group performs a wide range of  repertoire throughout the region in clinics, educational programs, and  recitals. Along with faculty pianist Alexandre Dossin, the OWQ also  performs as the piano/winds sextet "Hammerwinds". Recent performances  have included appearances at Beall Concert Hall, the Salem Public  Library, the All-Northwest MENC Conference in Portland, UO's White Stag  Building in old town Portland, and the Tower Theater in Bend.

Trio Pacifica was formed in the fall of 1993 with its premier at the University of Oregon School of Music. Since then the trio has performed throughout the Pacific Northwest and in Wyoming, Hawaii, and Taiwan. Winners of a prestigious Aaron Copland grant in 1999, Trio Pacifica released its first CD on the CRI label in spring 2000, featuring works of American composer Jon Deak.
