Before coming to the University of Oregon in 1961, Hladky was a member of the faculties of the Eastman School of Music and Ohio Wesleyan University. As a professional cellist, he has appeared as soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic Symphony, Columbus (Ohio) Symphony, Eastman Chamber Orchestra, Oklahoma City Symphony, Eugene Symphony, and the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra.
