Dossin recognized with Faculty Excellence Award

June 9, 2015—Alexandre Dossin, associate professor of piano performance and piano literature, is one of fourteen UO faculty members selected as recipients of the 2015-16 Fund for Faculty Excellence Awards in recognition of their research, teaching and leadership.

Fund for Faculty Excellence recipients receive a one-time salary stipend of $20,000, or may elect to receive the award as research funds totaling $25,000.

"Since I arrived at the UO in 2006, I have been truly inspired by this beautiful campus, the wonderful concert facilities, and instruments,” remarked Dossin.

“It has been very exciting to work on my research projects and performance activities, and this award will allow me to further develop their scope and outreach,” Dossin added.

The UO Office of the Provost is planning a celebration for Fund for Faculty Excellence recipients in the fall.

The selection committee’s notes on Prof. Dossin’s candidacy include the following:

"After almost a decade of study in Moscow and a Doctorate in the Musical Arts in Piano Performance at UT Austin, Professor Alexandre Dossin joined the UO School of Music and Dance in 2006.
