Scholarships and Funding

The University of Oregon School of Music and Dance gratefully acknowledges the generous contributions of individuals, foundations, businesses, and organizations that have established named endowed and annual scholarships for the benefit of music and dance students. More than $1.5 million is awarded annually. Although a large portion of these are allocated for undergraduate study, limited scholarship funding is also available for graduate students.

Most scholarships are awarded on the basis of musical achievement, however, some specialized scholarships are awarded by individual areas in the School of Music to continuing students for achievements in a particular discipline. To determine scholarship recipients, the music and dance faculty relies on the applicant’s application, audition (where applicable), and academic record.

Cost of attendance is the estimated cost to attend the UO for the academic year. The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships provides estimates for cost of attendance information that goes beyond tuition and fees, and includes: living expenses (housing and food), books/supplies/equipment, transportation, and miscellaneous personal expenses.
