This New York-based Baroque ensemble (pronounced “Re-BEL”) has earned an impressive international reputation, enchanting diverse audiences by their flamboyant style and their virtuosic, highly expressive, and provocative approach to the Baroque and Classical repertoire. The core period-instrument formation of two violins, recorder/traverse flute, cello/viola da gamba and harpsichord/organ is expanded with guest soloists for “Kingdoms & Viceroys: Music of Spain and its Dominions.” The program featuresworks by Durón, Falconieri, Castellanos, de Salazar, Vivaldi, Quiroz, and Literes, Baroque-period composers from Europe and the Americas.
