SOMD Dean to take Sabbatical

March 18, 2014—Brad Foley, dean of the UO School of Music and Dance, has announced his first sabbatical in thirty-seven years. Dean Foley will be on sabbatical starting April 1, and will resume his duties on September 1, 2014.

In Foley's absence, Professor Jeffrey Stolet, chair of the school's music technology area, will serve as acting dean. Stolet was among the very first individuals to be appointed to a Philip H. Knight professorship.

As former music director for the UO Department of Dance, Stolet brings to the position a firm grasp of the administration of both the dance and music areas of the school.
