Alum Gans-Morse profiled by Oregon Quarterly

December 16, 2014—Ethan Gans-Morse, a 2013 alumnus and composer of the new opera The Canticle of the Black Madonna, is profiled in the winter 2014 issue of Oregon Quarterly.
 
The article details Gans-Morse’s process in creating and premiering his opera at the UO School of Music and Dance, his relationships with composition faculty member Robert Kyr, and how The Canticle reflects Gans-Morse’s personal values and political conscience.
