The best way to get a feel for the school is to come and visit. We would love to show you around, answer all of your questions, and perhaps even coordinate your visit with a concert or a masterclass at school. If you visit during the school year, we might be able to arrange for you to sit in on classes, rehearsals and/or lessons. Please call ahead and make an appointment through the admissions office (541) 346-5268, or gmusadm@uoregon.edu.

TIP: When available, some performance faculty members will give lessons to prospective students. If you are interested in this option, please email the faculty member for your instrument. If you have already scheduled a lesson, please contact us to arrange a tour of the music school as well.

FIRST ANNUAL MUSIC DAY

On November 7th, the UO School of Music and Dance will present a special Music Day for high school students and their parents. You are invited to come and sit in on classes, watch ensemble rehearsals, meet with faculty, attend a student showcase recital and learn more about music scholarships and financial aid. Detailed schedule coming soon.

The University of Oregon School of Music and Dance is one of only four comprehensive music schools on the West Coast and is located within a large, thriving university with more than 250 programs of study. With 400 music majors, we provide a close-knit music community of students whose interests include music education, music technology, composition, performance and jazz studies. Music majors interact with our renowned faculty at weekly private lessons, in studio classes, master classes, chamber music coachings and other ensemble rehearsals. Over 30 different ensembles rehearse every week, including our award winning Chamber Choir, Oregon Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra.

Registration to Music Day is free and open to high school students. Parents and teachers are invited to attend.
