UO Chamber Music Series
Navigation Bar About the Series Tickets Season Schedule
The Chamber Music Series at the University of Oregon began its first season in the Fall of 1967. Edmund Cykler was the founder and nurtured the vision and development of presenting world class artists of this art form for 21 years. This Series is still the only music series in Lane County devoted exclusively to chamber music performed by internationally-acclaimed artists.

The first seasons included the Tokyo Quartet who later became one of the premier string quartets on the international music scene. Some of the most outstanding chamber ensembles for more than 30 years have appeared in exquisite Beall Concert Hall which is one of the outstanding concert halls in the country. Its acoustical clarity and warm inviting interior have been the perfect marriage for this music and has overwhelmingly contributed to the success of the Chamber Series.
