Important Deadlines:
To be assured consideration for scholarships and teaching fellowships for 2010-11, your admissions application and accompanying materials must be postmarked by January 2 and required auditions completed by February 13.

PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSION

  1. Apply to the School of Music and Dance.
    A completed application includes:
    a. SOMD application. Download either the master's or doctoral application packet. See link above.
    b. Sealed, official transcripts. UO graduates may submit a printout of UO transcript.
    c. Three letters of recommendation.
    d. A statement of purpose.
    e. A recent sample of the applicant's scholarly writing.
    f. Additional application requirements for admission to specific programs.
    Send completed application to:
    Graduate Admissions Assistant
    School of Music and Dance
    1225 University of Oregon
    Eugene, OR 97403-1225
  2. Apply to the University of Oregon.
    a. Submit an online UO Application for Graduate Admission and $50 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee. If you are unable to access the online admission application, please contact the Music Graduate Office for assistance.
    b. Submit by mail, official transcripts from all institutions (except University of Oregon) where you have earned a degree to:

    c. Students who have attained their master's degree from the University of Oregon use the Permission to Re-Register in the Graduate School form.
    d. If you are a UO undergraduate you must use the online Application for Graduate Admission form and pay the application fee.
  3. Schedule an audition, if applicable.
  4. Schedule an interview, if applicable.
  5. International students:
    a. Submit English proficiency scores
    b. Submit Student Financial Information
